Four ingredients are all you need to create this sophisticated cocktail. Dating back to the 1920s and originally crafted with gin, this version came along slightly later, and the flavor profile will depend on your choice of cognac.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ oz cognac
- ¾ oz simple syrup
- ¾ oz fresh lemon juice
- 4 ounces champagne
- Lemon twist, for garnish
Directions
- Combine first three ingredients in a shaker filled with ice.
- Shake vigorously and strain into flute glass.
- Top with champagne.
- Garnish with lemon twist.
