Manhattan
While variations on the manhattan cocktail come and go in popularity, the original recipe remains an all-time favorite. It’s traditionally made with American rye whiskey, but bourbon or Canadian whisky can also be used.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ oz rye whiskey
- ¾ oz sweet vermouth
- 1 dash bitters
- Maraschino cherry, for garnish
- Lemon twist, for garnish
Directions
- Chill a martini glass.
- Combine all ingredients, except for garnishes, in a shaker filled with ice.
- Shake and strain into prepared glass.
- Garnish with cherry and lemon twist.
